My niece Lily is a 4 year old loving girl and was diagnosed with a brain tumor on Friday, February 28th. Her parents April and George noticed that she was walking oddly, much like a newborn fawn with wobbly legs. They decided to take her to the doctor right away. After a neurological exam, an MRI was performed. The results were earth shattering. She had a brain tumor the size of a golf ball at the base of her skull and she will need surgery. The surgeon will be able to operate and hopefully remove the entire tumor. The procedure is to take place on Monday, March 2 at The Children's Hospital in Philadelphia. The family has been under much stress the past month. George had emergency open heart surgery for an aorta dissection on January 27. The doctor said that if he was there just a few minutes later, he would not have been able to help him. While April had been helping George with his recovery, her grandmother passed away. Now they are dealing with their daughter scheduled to have surgery soon. Between the two of them, they have 8 children with Lily being the baby. This is truly heart breaking for the entire family.
George and April have always been there for anyone who has needed help, from changing a flat tire while stuck on the side of the road to being a shoulder to cry on! And if you have ever met Lily, then you have been lucky enough to experience her sweet and kind heart! If you can help this family with what will be a staggering amount in medical bills, it would be much appreciated. It is in times like this that when we come together a huge undertaking becomes easier to manage.
Thank you in advance! All prayers are welcomed! I will update this page as I have more information on the progress of Lily.
