Brain surgery ain't cheap
Donation protected
At the young age of 19, my Mark found out he had an acoustic neuroma AKA a brain tumor. Last month he underwent a 9 hour surgery that was seemingly successful in terms of the removal of the tumor but there were some shortcomings as well. While removing the tumor the neurosurgeon had to remove Marks vestibulocochlear nerve, leaving him deaf in one ear. 3 weeks later at a checkup they found he was leaking cerebral spinal fluid and needed to have another procedure. This procedure did not work as the doctors had planned it to leading to another surgery. yesterday my parents took Mark to the ER for a fever of 103.8 and after some labs they found his white blood cell count was 20,000 and suspected meningitis. At about 0330 this morning he was taken to back down to duke by ambulance. My parents would never ask for a penny from anyone but I know a lot of people have been asking how they can help and I figured this would be the easiest and most effective for everyone. Thank you for considering to donate.
