Fighting Lymphoma with Yvonne McDonald

Hi, my name is Jillian. I, along with my brother and sister (Joe and Mallory), am trying to raise funds to help my mom, Yvonne, cover her medical expenses resulting from a recently discovered brain lesion. On June 4th, my mom began experiencing concerning symptoms such as double vision, trouble with her balance, and an inability to open her eyes on her own. She has been in and out (mostly in) of doctor’s offices, the ER, and the hospital. Toward the end of June, mom had an MRI that discovered a large lesion on the left side of her brain stem. She’s been in the hospital in Duluth ever since having tests to try to determine a diagnosis. After the results of the recent lumbar puncture ruled out several possibilities, the doctors in Duluth determined that it is appropriate to send her to another facility to try to find a diagnosis and begin treatment. They are currently trying to get her referred to the Mayo, U of MN, or Abbott Northwestern. The holiday weekend hasn’t done us any favors in getting things done quickly so she is waiting in the hospital in Duluth for next steps.

Unfortunately, mom hasn’t been able to work much given her symptoms and will face large medical bills as a result of the time it has taken to even get to a diagnosis. We hope to remove some stress by raising funds so she can focus on finding answers and hopefully starting treatment.

My mom would never ask for help on her own, but she is the first to help others. She is a caring woman who deserves so much support and love. We appreciate any and all support for our mom.
