Brain surgery required. Help needed
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Sherry and I have been diagnosed with Chiari Malformation, worsened by decades of abusive relationships and multiple head injuries.
I have often jokingly said I am punch drunk, but it is not a joke. It has become very serious, impairing motor skills, restricting concentration, severely limiting focus. This symptoms are progressing very quickly.
We are still in the stages of discovering what my future holds, however I will require brain surgery. At this point we do know my brain is tilted back to the side and pressing on my nerves. They suspect this caused the 3 mini strokes I have suffered the last 4 years. As well as my nerve issues, numbing limbs and these horrible debilitating migraines.
I'm presently waiting to discuss my options for surgery with a neurosurgeon.
I have tried to stay positive with a very small circle of people who know or see the extent of these injuries. I have good days and bad days.
In the meantime, I have been unable to work since end January 2023 with no near return to work date in my near future. My funds are now depleted. I need help.
Although I have managed to make do until now, this month I have begun falling behind in my bills and rent.
My EI sick benefits ran out in July.
I have applied for benefits and disability but it is not going to be a quick process so I currently have no income.
My rent includes most of my living expenses, ie utilities. I don't have a car payment and I have few little payments. I require approximately $2500 per month and, unfortunately, I am looking at a long term disability with almost no income expected for the next 2-3 months more before any decision is made on long term disability.
Because of the abuse in my past, I have always done everything I could to help anyone, especially other women, and rarely have I asked for help, until now.
I humbly request any help you could provide to help ensure I don't lose my home. I provide a part time home for one of my sons and my granddaughters. They need a safe place to come home to.
I sincerely appreciate any kindness you can show. From the bottom of my heart
Thank you,
Sherry T.
