Brain Cancer-Help Brandon & Family

Brandon Higbee is a husband, father, military vet, and to anyone who knows him, a friend. Brandon first found out he had stage 3C Melanoma in October 2016; his positive attitude never wavered and the fight in him was transparent. After 12 surgeries and 15 drug treatments, Brandon claimed a win with a cancer-free report in June 2017. In May 2018, Brandon was in for his routine scans and left the appointment feeling great, but shortly after received a call from his Doctor-which was unusual based on his experience. The doctor explained that they found some irregularities and wanted him to fly to Oahu for an MRI. The MRI reveled that six tumors metastasized in and around the cortex of his brain.
After a few days of uncertainty, both the Oncologist and Neurologist reported that this cancer is inoperable and ultimately terminal. After already going through the cancer battle and winning, this news was devastating to say the least. Brandon again never wavered in his optimism, asking only "what are the options to beat this". With the current size, quantity and location of the tumors, the options available are few. Although there are many different names for the radiation treatments, the concepts and formats are similar. The two primary options are pin point or whole brain. Brandon is considering pin point Radiation Surgery to attack the 2 larger tumors as well as the 4 smaller, and he is also being put on an inhibitor to slow the potential growth. The last option, Whole Brain Radiation, is a last ditch effort. This cancer is extremely aggressive-as it formed over a matter of months-and time is not on Brandon's side. The doctors cannot provide accurate time frames on life expectancy which makes every day count.
Despite the ill-odds, Brandon is remaining strong-especially for his wife Christina and two sons, Camdon, 8 years old, and Nolan, 4 years old. He remains positive and optimistic about going head on into this fight. Brandon says he "feels great" and continues to work and live life to the fullest.
Brandon's work family (BELFOR) is putting together this campaign in these uncertain times to give back. Brandon has always put his best foot forward working long hours until the job is done. We're joining together, asking for funds to send Brandon and his family from Kona to Oahu for some quality family time. This is time Brandon can give to his family for all his time spent in the field. We'd like him to take his boys to the Water Park for a day of fun, Kualoa Ranch for tours and activities, and even Coral Crater Adventure Park with zip lining, ATV & rock climbing. All other proceeds will go to Brandon's treatments. Please send good thoughts and prayers to Brandon and his family. Lets help Brandon pay for treatments and build lasting memories with his family.
