My sister Reina is a 43 year old mother of 7 who suffered a BLEEDING BRAIN ANEURYSM three weeks ago. She was at a friend, when she had a sudden, intense, and horribly painful headache and then passed out. When EMS came she was unresponsive and then rushed to the hospital where she was diagnosed with a brain aneurysm. Two days later, she underwent a long, extremely risky yet crucial surgery to clip the aneurysm that was in a very hard to reach spot. Thank G-d, the doctors were successful in clipping the aneurysm, yet unsure about how my sister would heal. She is still in the ICU but showing some very positive signs of improvement, thank G-d. G-d willing, when she does heal, she will need extensive therapies to get her back to normal as well as a house ramp, wheelchair, etc...many things that their insurance won’t cover. She is obviously not able to work at her regular job, and her husband cannot do all of his normal work because he is back and forth between his wife at the hospital and his children at home. This is why my father, Rabbi Ronald Barry, and myself are collecting for my sister, his daughter. We have directed that all funds to be withdrawn are deposited directly to the bank account of Sephardic Institute a 501C3 non-profit corporation and they, my father and I will monitor that all funds are spent properly for the needs of my sister Reina and her family.
My sister is a very special person. She is constantly giving of herself to others. She is sweet, empathetic, happy, sensitive, soft spoken, never raises her voice and always has a smile on her face. She is a survivor of pediatric brain cancer and has been fighting ever since. Please help her keep fighting for her life and the lives of her children.
