- We created this GoFundMe to raise money for my son. Brailyn has been diagnosed with Embryonal Rhabdomyosarcoma.(ERMS) stage 4. This is a rare type of cancer that affects young children and young adults. Brailyn was originally diagnosed with an abscess, and went to get it removed on February 12, 2024. When the doctors went to extract it they realized it was a tumor. We went to Duke Hospital and were told he would need chemo and radiation for 48 weeks. He just finished chemo in January 2025 at new Bern cancer center, and found out his body became resistant to the chemo at the end. We will be starting radiation in Durham (not local) 3 hour drive. for 6-8 weeks the end of February 2025. We will be in Durham M-F as he will have radiation those days and come home on the weekends to see family. They told us this is going to be an up hill battle for him. This money will go towards medical fees, food, gas, and hotel costs,etc. Brailyn needs support and prayers in order to beat this disease.
