A mass shooting has taken the life of my dear sweet niece, Brailyn Holmes from Millville, NJ.
Brailyn, only 19 years old, was a student studying Social Work at Norfolk College, in Virginia. May 22, 2021, on a break from school, she and friends were having a good time celebrating at a birthday party when gun fire rang out, 2 people killed, 11 people injured. While she fought hard, on May 28th, Brailyn has succumbed to her injuries and is now the 3rd person killed in this senseless shooting.
Anyone who knew her knew she was the most loving and caring person, always the life and heart of her family and friends. She was the type of person that could make you smile and laugh on your worse days.
No mother should ever have to bury her child. Our family is hurting by this devastating unexpected death. The only thing that brings us a small amount of comfort is knowing that she is with her Father “Pooch” whom she lost in 2015.
My sister has decided that Brailyn will be an organ donor. But the family would still love to celebrate her life by giving her a home going service. The family is asking for your support to offset some of the expenses during this difficult time.
