Lenora McGowan is a talented author and a cherished member of our Gainesville community. I met Lenora through Putting Families First at the University of Florida, a program that connects first-year health students with local residents. A few years ago, Lenora collaborated with a PFF group to create a beautiful children’s book titled Butterfly Dreams. Now, she dreams of making her story accessible to even more children by having it printed in braille.
The goal of this fundraiser is to print Butterfly Dreams in braille so that children who visit the Harn Museum can enjoy her story. Donations will go directly toward the cost of printing through Braille Works, a company dedicated to making literature accessible for people with visual impairments. By supporting this project, you’ll help bring Lenora’s words to life for children who might not otherwise have the chance to read them.
Please help support our goal of printing Lenora’s book and continue to help places like the Harn Museum be an accessible space for all people in our community. Your generosity will help create a more welcoming and inclusive environment. Thank you for being part of this important effort!
