update
My son Braiden was diagnosed with stage 4 melanoma brain cancer on 25/8/2025

braiden is 29 years old who also has the diagnosis of autism and adhd. On the 25th he had a seizure so he was rushed to hospital, by that night he was not able to communicate and couldn’t remember a thing. His scans showed 5 cancerous tumours. He was flown out from Orange hospital to Royal prince Alfred that Wednesday 27th to then undergo surgery on the 5/9. The amazing oncology team removed 2/5 tumours with the chance of losing his ability to walk, thankfully he was only left with nerve damage in his left leg. his speech came back to normal and with a quick recovery he was back home by the 10/9

Braiden was currently living with my 6 foster children and my self. during this hell his sister was able to drive down and take care of all the children while my son and I was 4 hours away going through this nightmare. Braiden came back to loads of love and beautiful posters drawn by the kids.

whilst he was recovering and undergoing his first autoimmune treatment the remaining of the tumours where swelling so much that the swelling combined and covered all the top part of his head. With episodes of intense pain Braiden unfortunately was taken to the emergency room on the 11/10 and was flown out the next day. Unfortunately his 2/3 remaining tumours grew and had to have emergency removal of all remaining tumours. He was told he could lose his eye sight and be immobilised as these tumours where much deeper in his brain. When he awoke he was extremely confused and not able to speak properly or walk. with the fear of this possibly being my son for the rest of his life my family and I where preparing for the worst. Fortunately 10 days latter he has recovered little by little and now 24/10 he was able to come home with speech delay and processing delay with balance issues we hope will improve with more time. As for now he has a walker and a family who loves him very much to help him with his difficult recovery.

My son still has 1 small tumour in his lung that we hope his autoimmune therapy will shrink and control. Whilst my son is going through his treatment I can only provide so much with 6 children all with high needs. I have had my daughter move in to help provide care for everyone but in doing this she has lost work as she lives 3 hours away. with the help of a lovely family providing us temporarily balance equipment we are hoping to raise money to buy him what he needs plus the travel and accommodation, food ect for the family and my son while being so far from home. with this last unexpected surgery we had to split the children with 3 wonderful family’s and that was extremely hard on everyone we don’t want this to happen again.

So Im asking, Please help Braiden and donate as much or as little as you can so he doesn’t have to worry about these things and he can concentrate on his recovery.
