Braeon and Leona Need Our Help
Donation protected
Update: I wanted to post the latest update here and send this back out on social media since I couldn't find a great way to share just the update. Please pray and share far and wide.
Braeon has been diagnosed with left ventricular non-compaction cardiomyopathy. This is a condition he has likely had since birth. There is no cure, so Braeon will need to be on medication for the rest of his life and may still eventually require a heart transplant. However, he is stable enough now that they can send him home with a LifeJacket (external wearable defibrillator) and he will resume care with specialists at St. Luke's Hospital.
Original: Just a few weeks ago, Braeon was 24 and feeling fine. He ended up in the ER the first week of October, and was soon diagnosed with cardiomyopathy. B’s heart is in failure and isn’t pumping the way it’s supposed to, putting him at risk for blood clots and a potential need for a future heart transplant. There’s a lot they don’t know right now, but they do know that he needs to be transferred to a St. Louis hospital for monitoring, more tests, and maybe surgeries.
Braeon won’t be able to work for a while. As you can imagine, his mom Leona would like to stay in St. Louis with him. And the hospital bills will start coming in soon. Our friend Braeon is in his time of need. If you can help offset some of the many costs that will be coming in for him and his family, it would be greatly appreciated.
