Braedyn needs our help!

In a world that is saturated with comic book heros, one could be forgiven for wondering, “What is a superhero?” Personally, I relate more to Tony Stark’s Ironman. Not because he is a billionaire, playboy, philanthropist but because of his humanity. Tony strives to better himself and stronger, to overcome his adversities, to keep fighting and growing.
Then, along came Braedyn… Braedyn was diagnosed with rhabdomyosarcoma at the age of 14. Rhabdomyosarcoma is a highly aggressive form of skeletal muscle cancer that mostly affects children under the age of 18. In Braedyn’s case, it appears to have started at the base his brain and spread to his throat. This diagnosis marked the beginning of one of Braedyn’s biggest fights ever. This young warrior, who loves all things Marvel, Dungeons and Dragons, (and even Pokemon), suited up for an 18 month battle using chemotherapy, radiation, the support of his family, community, and his own strength to finally beat his cancer.
With a clean bill of health, Braedyn was able to take the time to just be a kid again and enjoyed his summer attending Camp Quality in Sudbury and Camp Ooch. These two camps specialist in giving kids with special healthcare needs the chance to attend summer camp programs. He returned to school in September of 2019 and in November 2019 was granted a “wish” through
The Children's Wish Foundation . The Foundation shipped him and his family to Give Kids the World in Kissimmee, Florida where they got to experience Disney World, the Animal Kingdom, Universal Studios, and an airboat tour where they got to observe local wildlife including alligators. Braedyn even got the opportunity to eat some local delicacies like alligator meat and emu (so good!).
A week later, during a routine 3 month check up at Sick Kids in Toronto, cancer cells were detected again… His cancer is back. He is only 16 years old.
For the next two months Braedyn and his mother stayed at Ronald MacDonald House while Braeden restarted chemotherapy and radiation treatments. The pair would occasionally sneak away on weekends to visit his Aunt and Uncle in Etobicoke. Braedyn loves spending time with family, loves to laugh, and to help those in need around him. He is the kind of kid that any parent would be proud to call their own.
Braedyn finished his radiation treatment and has since returned home to Timmins but will need to fly to Toronto every 3 weeks for chemotherapy treatment until summer 2020. So many friends,
family, and community members have already stepped up to the help us before and we hate to ask again but any assistance you could render would be greatly appreciated. Your thoughts, prayers, and donations mean more then you could possibly imagine and will forever be appreciated. We always hoped that Braedyn would not need to suit up for this fight again but here we are. Watching, supporting, and cheering for our very own superhero.
