Brady's Road to Recovery
Carissa Keyes, Barret Keyes:
We're making this fundraiser to help our brother, Brady Keyes. He's been struggling for a number of years now with alcohol and substance abuse and is trying to take steps to fix those issues in his life for good. we've only seen bits and pieces and what's happened so it may be better to have you read what our mother wrote:
My name is Sherry MacDonald. My son is Brady Keyes. Brady is an alcoholic/addict. He just finished going through detox.
It has been a rough couple of years. Brady had been in and out of emergency because alcohol was killing him. Brady was told that if he didn't quit drinking, he will die.
As a mom, I have lived with uncertainty day after day not knowing if my son will make it through this. To make a change you have to want help, but the other person has to be willing to receive help. Brady wants to quit drinking. 95% of the battle is the desire to change, or so I thought. For addiction that may not always be enough.
I had days that turned into weeks while trying to get the immediate help Brady needs. Publicly funded programs have long wait lists. We ended up having to look at private programs.I have found a place for Brady to go for additional support for 1 month, straight from detox. It costs $13 thousand dollars.
It takes a community to support each other. Brady left for the program on Saturday August 15th, we need help to get him through this. My son has a shot at life. I don't want him to fail and he is trying so hard. Brady is only 24 years old, he has a whole life, a future ahead of him, if he can leave the past behind.
100% of any donations will be put towards Brady's rehabilitation program.
Please help me to save his life.
