Brady’s Battle with Perthes Disease
Hello All,
Our 10 yr. old grandson Brady “Bum” Rollins has unfortunately been diagnosed with a rare childhood condition called “Perthes Disease”. This horrible condition affects the hip where blood flow to the head of the femur is disrupted and causes the bone to deteriorate.
Brady will be casted this week with a Petrie cast, this involves both legs being casted from thigh to ankle and connected with a bar creating an A shape.
He will be in this immobile cast for 4 to 6 weeks, on August 24th the doctors at Boston Children’s Hospital will operate to properly align the hip and femur head. Needless to say this is every parents worse nightmare!
Our daughter Shannon and her husband Eric are facing a very long, emotional, heartbreaking and financially challenging road ahead, as they will need to take time off from work to care for Brady. They are very proud and humble and didn’t want to ask for help from anyone! So this request is coming from her immediate family.
Any contributions at all will be GREATLY appreciated to help with the enormous amount of medical bills that will be coming their way. Love to ALL and thank you so much for your support. ❤️
