Recreation means different things to different people. Times are obviously changing, and changing fast. Public interest is shifting more and more towards the outdoors as a means of escape for exercise, mental health, and relaxation. Especially during the pandemic, it has been "essential" so to speak. And proves that we need access to the outdoors for our quality of life in general. For all types of people.
There is no denying the surge of Mountain Biking across the nation. There are about 26,000+ high school age kids participating in and racing for their schools MTB team. And there is no denying the economic impact as well as the public health benefits that go along with a community that supports cycling as a whole.
I believe that here in Beaver County, Brady's Run Park specifically, we have the perfect topographical infrastructure to create a world class experience for bike riders of all ages, skill levels and disciplines.
There is a plan in place for a skills park where riders can progress as they go. A pump track for all levels, and specific machine cut flow trails with berms and fun but rollable features that kids, as well as expert riders can enjoy. It will feature a bike repair station with all the corresponding tools attached. And depending on running water, a bike wash station at the trail head too.
With YOUR help, I, along with a group of dedicated local riders are prepared to take on this project as a long term commitment. BUT....
It will take thousands of volunteer hours, hand and power tools, moderately heavy equipment ie; skidsteer/backhoe operators. Tons and tons of dirt. We can locally source alot of building materials, but will need more over time so as to not take away from the parks natural resources and aesthetics.
