If you know Chris, you know exactly what kind of person he is. Mention his name, and people smile. He’s easygoing, kind, and the kind of man who makes people feel comfortable the moment they meet him. He’s the guy who shows up, does the right thing, and never asks for anything in return. Chris is a former PGA Golf Professional who truly loved the game, who was in the process of reinstating his PGA Membership . Golf wasn’t just his career — it was his passion, his community, and a huge part of his identity. In December, he was forced to stop playing.
Shortly after, our lives changed in a way we never could have prepared for...
Chris has now been diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS).
Since early January, he has not been able to eat solid food. Everyday tasks are becoming more difficult, and we are now facing the reality of what this disease means for his future — and for our family.
But Chris’s story doesn’t start here.
Chris has already walked through more loss than most people ever experience.
In 2011, he lost his infant son, Ethan.
In 2021, he lost his first wife and Emma lost her mother, Jess.
Through both of those unimaginable losses, Chris remained steady. He was the father Emma needed — present, loving, and committed to giving her a stable and secure life no matter what.
When Chris and I built our life together, we believed we were stepping into a chapter of healing. In 2024, we experienced a miscarriage (my third) — another loss — but we continued forward with faith and determination.
Now we are facing ALS.
And through all of this, Chris is still the same person — kind, grounded, and more concerned about everyone else than himself.
Our biggest priority in all of this is Emma.
She has already experienced more loss than most children ever should. Our goal is to protect her life — her routines, her opportunities, her sense of security — and to keep her world as stable and normal as possible.
Everything we are doing is with her future in mind.
Why We Are Raising $464,000
This fundraiser is based on a 3-year plan for the care Chris will need as ALS progresses.
ALS is not just a diagnosis — it is a disease that requires increasing levels of care, support, and medical equipment over time. Many of these costs are not fully covered by insurance or Medicare.
This is a realistic projection of what will be needed:
$120,000 – Loss of income
Replacing Chris’s income to help maintain our household and protect stability for Emma
$165,000 – Full-time caregiving
As the disease progresses, Chris will require daily assistance with basic care, mobility, and safety
$45,000 – Medical care and travel
ALS specialists, clinic visits, treatments, and ongoing care
$38,500 – Assistive equipment
Power wheelchair, communication devices, hospital bed, and mobility support
$20,000 – Home modifications
Making our home safe and accessible as his needs change
$15,000 – Emma’s stability fund
Supporting her activities, education, and emotional stability
$13,000 – Final arrangements
Catholic funeral, cremation, burial, and headstone
Total: $464,000 over a 3-year period
This is not about anything extra.
This is about care, dignity, and stability.
Our goal is to ensure Chris receives the care he needs without putting the entire financial burden on our household income — and to protect Emma’s life and future in the process.
How You Can Help - If you feel led to support our family, we are incredibly grateful.
If you are not able to give, sharing this page means just as much. Every share expands the number of people who can see Chris’s story.
We are taking this one day at a time, leaning on our faith, and trusting that we will be surrounded by the right people during this time. Thank you for your support, your prayers, and your kindness.
