UPDATE 2/18/2019 - GOD IS GREAT!!!! Gunnar and his family traveled to Shands in Gainesville today for his one year checkup and he remains in REMISSION!! He will continue to have checkups every 3 months for the next year. He was told he was over doing it a bit on his leg and he has to restart physical therapy. Gunnar returned to Embry-Riddle University last year after his extended break for treatment, taking a full course load and is scheduled to graduate this year in May. He continues to fully participate with the baseball team, attending all practices and games but is still not able to return to the playing field. Thank you to everyone for your continued prayers and support for Gunnar and the entire Bradshaw family.

Thank you so much to Alison Hannon who FINALLY helped get the video the way Staci and I invisioned  it! <3  Each song has a powerful message................

I am but ONE person in a STRONG community  of family, friends, coworkers, teammates and classmates in the West Orange, FL community and at the Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University where Gunnar Bradshaw is currently a junior and plays for the Eagles baseball team.  ALL of us are now fighting WITH Gunnar after he recently received the devastating news that he has the big "NASTY C".  Gunnar, at 20 yrs old,  has been diagnosed with Osteosarcoma  (only 600 people a year in the U.S. get this type of cancer)  and he is facing a long battle ahead of him.  His projected course of treatment is 10 weeks of chemo, followed by the partial removal of the femur bone (approx 7 inches up), total knee replacement and then another 19 weeks of chemo.  He will be forced to stay 3-4 days at the hospital each time he receives chemo at Shands Cancer Treatment Center in Gainesville.  His recovery will eventually involve intensive physical therapy when he is strong enough. His mother, Staci (Farr) Bradshaw will not be able to work during Gunnar's treatment as she will caring for him and transporting him back and forth.  In addition, he has to be on a strictly organic diet.  Gunnar's father, Ronnie Bradshaw works in law enforcement and has been on medical leave due to a recent surgery and recovery not covered by worker's compensation.

Needless to say, the expenses are mounting fast.  They have a very high deductible on their insurance and will have to pay the deductible all over again at about the half way point in Gunnar's treatment.  They are looking at huge expenses coming up to include gas, tolls, vehicle maintenance, hotels, food, medical bills (copays and prescription costs) lost wages for Staci and the added expense of feeding Gunnar the organic diet.

The Bradshaw family are a HUGE part of our local community and several people have already come together and planned upcoming fundraisers on Gunnar's behalf, but it will not begin to cover the anticipated expenses they are facing.  So now is the time to give back to this wonderful family.  I'm proud to call them friends as so many others are.  Gunnar is a STRONG young man and with the support of his family, friends, community and more importantly, GOD, we know that he will prevail for we know he has a plan for you.  We love you Gunnar, Olivia, Staci and Ronnie! <3
