Brad’s Surgery Recovery and cost of living.

Hello everyone, My name is Brad, and like many of us, I’m going through some hard times currently. This coming October I’ll be unable to work as I recover from an umbilical hernia surgery. I am insured and I believe that the surgery will be covered at least for the most part which is great, but unfortunately in my line of work (tattooing) I don’t get PTO or paid medical leave in any way. Which even so typically wouldn’t be an issue ,and I’ve been able to get through things like this in the past and even during the pandemic, but life has a nice way of throwing a perfect storm at me. Last year I found out I’ve had a broken hand for years. I planned accordingly on leaving the tattoo profession as of January, and have been limping my hand through the remainder of my career , and working in a limited capacity , which needless to say has been tough, but I was getting by until I aggravated an umbilical hernia I’ve had for a couple years as well, but had never had issue with until recently, which brings us up to date I think. So I will be out of work a minimum of 2 weeks but as much as 6 weeks (let’s hope not) during this time I will have no form of income at all. Which will definitely be a strain and I’m not quite sure yet, how I’m going to navigate that. I’ve already been doing things in my end to prep for it and offset what I can, but I’ve realized that for the first time in my life, I need to humbly admit that I need help and ask friends that are in any position to do so, for their help. Please understand I don’t do this lightly and it’s been a very hard decision for me to make to do this , but here I am, asking for help to get me through October, covering my cost of living and meals for the month. Basic groceries and bills. If you can help, I truly appreciate it , if not I totally understand and ultimately I’m sure I’ll be fine and will be able to get through, just realizing that I may need a little help to get through and coming to terms with that.
