Brad's Big Break!

My name is Nora Behrens and I have known Brad Perry and his family since he moved to Incline from Idaho. Brad is a talented musician you have likely seen play at the beach, a fundraiser, or church. Or maybe you've taken a music lesson from him, seen him conducting a children's choir, or just at Drink Coffee, Do Stuff. Brad is a fantastic opera singer who has been relentlessly working on his skills while waiting for the chance to sing for people who can open the door to a career in opera. He was accepted to a prestigious training program in Italy in 2019, but his wife Mari's health had been declining. The day he was due to fly out, Mari was airlifted to Renown, and she passed away shortly after, leaving Brad a single father of 3 children. In the face of tragedy, Brad's opera career had to wait.

 

Several years have passed, Brad has married the wonderful Rev. Sarah Dunn, and the kids are thriving. Last summer he performed in the Cal Opera's performance of Norma in Fresno. His talent was noticed and he has again been invited to participate in a training program in Italy this August to perform the role of Pinkerton in Madame Butterfly.  The timing is perfect because he will be Pinkerton in Fresno this summer as well. He was even offered a scholarship to cover a portion of the fees for the program. Brad will have the opportunity to work with one of the top Italian diction coaches in the world AND his coach the coloratura soprano Laura Claycomb in person. This time around he has family support and is poised to pursue this life-changing opportunity.

 

Traveling to Italy is expensive, there are fees to attend the program, Brad won't be working for a few weeks to participate. Would you donate to help Brad get to Italy and launch his career?
