Bradley's Fight Against Pediatric Glioblastoma

On April 8, 2020, my then, 9-year-old son, Bradley James was diagnosed with grade IV Glioblastoma. He had emergency surgery on April 9, 2020, to remove the tumor and from there he has received phenomenal care from Memorial Sloan Kettering in NYC. A combination of chemotherapy, radiation and an additional surgery has worked to keep the tumor away…until now. On June 3, 2021, we received the devastating news that Bradley’s tumor has returned with a vengeance. Surgery is no longer an option due to the position and severity of the tumor. Bradley has begun a new chemotherapy with the hopes that it may help to give my family and I a little more time with my son. He may be eligible to participate in a trial coming up in July but there is currently no guarantee that will be an option either. Bradley often has difficulty with speech, he has lost much of the mobility in his dominant arm, he is showing signs of mobility loss in his right leg as well and has begun having petite mal seizures. Through all of this he has been an amazing force. He takes his medication without complaint and even when he is not feeling his best, somehow finds ways to enjoy each day.

Our future is unknown and scary. If Bradley is able to participate in a trial, we will need transportation, housing, and food for the duration. Medical bills continue to pile up every day. I will soon be taking a leave of absence to spend whatever time I have left with my boy. But most importantly, I want to be able to spend this time helping Bradley to just have fun and be a typical 10-year-old. I wish for him to experience any and everything he dreams of.

I would be incredibly grateful for any and all help you are able to give. But most importantly, I ask for prayers. Pray for Bradley to receive a miracle, pray for us as a family to find ways to get through this impossible time.
