Bradley Smith Memorial Gaming Table
Every Friday evening (in ‘peacetime’), The Old Library welcomes the community to join members of the Caerphilly Board Gaming Club for an evening of fun and friends.
Since the evening's inception 5 years ago, Brad Smith and his wife Liz have been much-loved and regular guests of the games nights and devoted customers of The Old Library. By sharing their love of gaming and their warm, welcoming, and affectionate nature with all our friends, old and new, their social contribution has been key to the success of this "open to all" weekly event.
With the utmost sorrow from all who knew him, Brad was laid to rest in January 2021. His loss is felt profoundly by his family, friends, and community who loved him.
In memory of Brad and to celebrate his legacy, The Old Library would like to crowdfund a memorial gaming table for our community café and dedicate it to Brad. It would be a place where all are welcome to share in fun, games, and laughter, as Brad did with everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him - a fitting and forever commemoration of Brad and his impact on all who knew him.
Any amount you can give will be put towards the best table possible and we will endeavour to have it built ready for our first night back, ready to share the fondest of memories and start making new ones!
Thanks for all the great experiences Brad! You really were one of a kind, and whilst it won't be the same without you, we'll be thinking of you always - Taking the motto of your beloved LFC - ‘You'll Never Walk Alone..."
