Support Braden’s Fight With Cancer
Donation protected
Hi Everyone! Thank you for visiting our fundraiser, My name is Bernadette Knell, I have set up this fundraiser on behalf of my father-in-law, Braden and the Keller ohana (family).
In February of 2023, my father-in-law, Braden Keller was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer that has spread to his liver and duodenum. This diagnosis was unexpected, but as a family we all made sure we continued to stay in good spirits and press on with treatments including IV chemotherapy treatments bi-weekly, chemotherapy pills everyday, and continuous hospitalization because of side effects of the treatment and the cancer. Thanks to God, Braden now has a nurse visit the home every week to help with any medical needs.
This diagnosis has not only been emotional for our entire family, especially Braden, but has also affected our family financially. As you can imagine, the medical bills are expensive and continue to come in rapidly. Too fast for us to keep up with. Braden’s condition requires high attention at times and most times, Ray-Joy, my mother-in-law will stay home to help with care. The constant attention proves hard for Ray-Joy to work as often as before. Dropping from 6 days a week (three to four 12-hour shifts and two 10-hour shifts) to working sometimes only 3 days a week. As the primary source of income for her household, it’s a challenge that Ray-Joy’s income drops while the costs of the treatments and normal monthly expenses continue to increase.
After efforts from everyone in our family and keeping our heads above water, we are asking for help financially to continue to provide the treatment necessary to keep my father-in-law with us and comfortable. All donations will be used to help pay for the medical expenses for my father-in-law and help with normal living expenses for him and my mother-in-law if the amount of donations can extend that far. We are all grateful for any help we can get and are humbled and thank you for your time. Mahalo!
