My name is Ashley Whitelaw-Butts, and I am the oldest of Ruth Ann Barrett’s daughters. Recently we have had to face the unimaginable tragedy of losing my sister, EJ (Eva) Barrett’s son, Braden Roberson. EJ is also the daughter of Mike Barrett.

The community has held this family up during this murder investigation like none other, and we humbly come to you to ask for monetary help with expenses.

Many of the expenses need to be paid upfront and we have exhausted all other resources. If anyone can give to EJ and Jarod to take some of the load off their backs, we would be most honored.

On top of funeral expenses, they are distraught and not able to return to work any time soon.

Braden was 18 and the light of so many of our lives. He was handsome and quirky, and he never minded telling anyone about the Lord if he had the chance. His life was ended Thursday, July 24th at the Blue Hole in Louann. He was murdered by two people he trusted and one he had never met. They await trial and our justice for Braden will be served down the road.
