Hi there! I am Jennifer; a life long friend of this family and they need our help. We are raising funds to help support Paige and Braden, whose newborn baby Brynnley is currently critically ill and receiving intensive medical care at Sick Kids Hospital in Toronto.

On December 22nd at Kingston General Hospital, Paige and Braden welcomed their precious baby Brynnley to the world. Mom and baby both seemed healthy and the new family was discharged 2 days before what was supposed to be the best Christmas ever. What should have been a joyful time has quickly turned into overwhelming fear. On the morning of Christmas Eve Brynnley seemed to be struggling to breath, so Paige and Braden, feeling that something wasn't right; returned to KGH to have Brynnley assessed.

Very quickly the doctor's discovered that Brynnley's heart was not functioning as it should and she would need an immediate life saving intervention. The Toronto Sick Kids Hospital cardiac transport team was dispatched and Brynnley was accompanied by the team to Toronto.

At 5am Christmas morning, Brynnley underwent a life saving 6 hour surgery to try and stabilize her. It was after that surgery that the cardiologist informed Paige and Braden that wee Brynnley has a heart defect called Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome. This will require Brynnley to undergo a second surgery within the coming week as well as a minimum of 2 more surgeries in the coming weeks and months.

Paige and Braden are spending every moment possible by their new baby's side, focusing on hope, strength and love during this incredibly difficult time.

As you can imagine, the emotional stress is immense and the financial burden is already beginning to grow. Accommodations, meals, reduced income due to maternity/paternity leave, and all of the unexpected costs are quickly adding up.

Brynnley's recovery is expected to be long and fragile, with many unknowns. They are embarking on an extended journey that will expect them to expect the unexpected.

This GoFundMe is meant to ease some of the burdens so that Paige and Braden can focus entirely on their precious Brynnley without the added worry of finances.

Funds raised will help with:

Accommodations/Meals/Travel expenses.

Lost income due to time away from work.

Ongoing care and recovery needs.

Medical and Hospital related expenses not covered by OHIP.
