Bradcrazy’s Hundo for the Homeless

On August 29, I’m going to attempt to run 100 miles through the streets of Bangor.

But this has never really been about running.

The 100 miles are simply my way of getting people’s attention, bringing our community together, and hopefully turning that attention into something that can actually help people right here in our own city.

Bangor is my home. I grew up here. I’ve run these streets for years, and during those miles I’ve seen people sleeping outside, carrying everything they own with them, trying to stay warm, trying to find food, and sometimes simply trying to make it through another day.

It’s easy to drive by and think that homelessness is somebody else’s problem.

But these are people in our community.

And I believe a community is strongest when we take care of our own.

That is why I created Bradcrazy’s Hundo for the Homeless.

I’m putting my legs to work, but this fundraiser belongs to all of us. I don’t expect one person or one business to solve homelessness. I’m asking thousands of people to do something small together.

$5.
$10.
$20.
Whatever you can afford.

Because when enough people do a little, together we can do something BIG.

WHERE THE MONEY IS GOING

100% of the money raised through this fundraiser will go to Jericho Road Ministries and The Well Warming Center in Bangor.

These organizations are already on the ground doing the work.

The Well provides a safe daytime warming space for people experiencing homelessness during Maine’s coldest months, along with basic necessities such as access to showers and laundry.

Jericho Road Ministries works with people facing homelessness, addiction, and difficult life circumstances through recovery programs, food assistance, transitional support, employment preparation, and other resources designed to help people rebuild their lives.

This is exactly where I want this money to go — to people who are already face-to-face with the individuals who need help and who understand where that help can make the biggest difference.

This Saturday, I’ll start running at 5:00 PM and I’ll keep moving until I reach 100 miles.

There will be pain. There will be exhaustion. There will probably be plenty of moments when my body tells me to stop.

But that’s part of the point.

For a short period of time, I can choose to be uncomfortable for people who don’t always get that choice.

I can run 100 miles.

But I can’t do the important part by myself.

That part takes all of us.

If you can donate, please donate.

If you can’t donate, share this fundraiser.

Talk about it. Show up. Run a few miles with me. Encourage somebody else to get involved.

Let’s show what can happen when Bangor comes together for one purpose — helping our own.

Every dollar matters.

Every share matters.

Every person matters.

Thank you for believing in this, supporting me, and most importantly, supporting the people in our community who need us.

100 miles. One city. One community. One purpose.
