UPDATE
My father has transitioned gracefully and in peace. My deepest gratitude from the bottom of my heart to each and every person who sent prayers for his recovery, and your generous contributions. The disease took over like a wild fire. By the time he realized he had cancer, he was already at the end stage. I dropped everything to help my dad. During those six weeks I was at his side, he could no longer walk, or even sit upright; he could barely eat. I prayed and fought for a miracle, but it was his time. Thankfully, he is now at peace and free of his illness.
I promised my father that I would take care of my mother. He was very much the provider for all her needs, and I need time to settle her affairs and care for her during this transition. Therefore I am asking for help to pay for expenses and help my mom get settled, so I can start working full time again. If you can please spread the word. Any donations, no matter how small, would be greatly appreciated during this time of transition.
WHAT I HAVE LEARNED
I have learned so much during my father’s transition, and wanted to share it with you. When we found out my dad had cancer, he was already at the end stage. The cancer attacked his bones to the point that he could no longer walk, or even sit, and he could barely could eat. The thought of my dad passing was unbearable to me. I dropped everything to be with him. The only thing I could think of was that I have to save my dad. I was on a mission and I fought for a miracle.
The day before he passed away, I took my dads hand and I told him that if he chose to transition I supported his decision 100%. I promised that I would make him proud and that I would take care of my mother. And if he chooses to stay I would do everything possible to help restore his health.
I also made a decision. It was as if lightning struck and everything was clear. I know my dad did everything possible, in many ways sacrificing his own dreams, so that I could live my life powerfully, free, fully expressed, and with full intention and impact. He taught me through example unconditional love, kindness and integrity. He gave me the consistent safety and love to know that I can soar. The gift he gave me is priceless. I will honor his gift by living my fullest potential.
I was holding my father’s hand as he transitioned, and the moment he drew his last breath I could see he had left his body. I could feel his presence all around me. In that moment I realize that we are not our bodies; they are just our vehicle during this physical life.
During the fight surrendering and letting go was so very hard to do. But I realized the most unconditional loving thing I could do was to honor the choice he made, and it brings me a lot of peace. We prayed for a miracle for my dad, and we did receive our miracle, but not in the form we had hoped for. Now my father is at peace and totally free.
Its funny how when you face your biggest fear you feel a state of fearlessness. I feel unstoppable now and with my dad at my back.
I now carry this torch. I will make my dad proud. This is my promise.
PERSONAL WORDS FROM MY MOTHER
“I love Brad more than words can express. He was an unconditionally loving person with a deep heart. I truly appreciate sharing so many years with him. I want to thank all of you for being a part of his life, and I thank you so much for all your love and support. I cannot express enough the gratitude I feel.”
Love, Haruko
.........................................
On Feb. 15th. 2019 we received a call that changed our lives forever. My father, the man that I admire most in this world, the person who has always provided for me, my mom and the people around him with safety, love and peace was told he had only months to live. My father has stage 4 inoperable cancer. It is in his colon, liver and bones and he cannot walk. It hit me like a brick. I needed a miracle.
What his doctors once thought was a serious intestine problem was much much more.
When we visited the oncologist at the hospital, he was originally given a prognosis of one month. The doctor could not in good faith recommend chemo, as there is a chance in his case it could actually worsen his condition. However I did not and will not give up hope. We traveled to Santa Rosa for a second opinion with a doctor who specializes in alternative holistic treatment. Currently my dad is taking the course of this doctor now, in conjunction with what traditional Western medicine is offering.
What is happening now is the greatest challenge I have faced in my life. I know that many of us have stood in these shoes with a loved one and I feel an even greater compassion now for everyone out there who has been affected by this disease. When they say it hits the family the hardest...well I know exactly what that means. It is also one of the greatest challenges for me to ask for help. I will do anything for my dad. This is why I am writing today.
WHAT WE NEED:
Any other treatment other than chemo is not covered by the insurance. Right now all treatment and care for my father is coming from of out of pocket. Mom, Rona, and I are with my dad around the clock, and since none of us have been able to work this past month, we will very soon be exhausted of the funds we have to pay for expenses surrounding the high costs of his treatment. There are also high transportation and care costs because my father is not mobile at this time.
Any amount of financial support would be so greatly appreciated. Even $5 would make a big difference. ($5 from 10 people is $50, which is great and would help us out.)
If you prefer to donate via Venmo, you can do so @anya-fuchs
OTHER WAYS YOU CAN HELP:
I know this is a process. Day by day I am learning something new in this fight, including a big lesson in asking for help when we need it. We are also learning of various solutions and options for treatment. If anyone has any knowledge, advice or suggestions please contact me. If you don't have my contact info, you can post a comment with your donation and I will see it. I would greatly appreciate it.
Also any shares to friends, family via email, Facebook would be greatly appreciated.
Those of you who know my dad best know how he likes to keep things simple, keep it light, loves comedy and likes to laugh. I believe there is nothing stronger than hope, laughter, and the power of viewing someone in their strength and power.
I ask you to please send your heart energy to my father, who in my opinion is the greatest dad a girl can ask for and just an all around stellar human being. He is kind and caring and has a heart larger than anyone I know. He is intelligent and humorous beyond humanly possible. Those of you who know him well know that he touches your soul and is loyal beyond words. He is and will always be my rock and my light. If we all hold a vision of Brad in his most physically powerful and healthy form there is something really powerful about that. If we all do this together we are unstoppable.
