Brad's 2020 24 hour Dance Marathon
As many of you know, in 2016 I lost a bet and had to dance for 24 hours and live stream it. As it got closer and I talked to more people, I realized I could have still "won" the bet by using the opportunity to raise money for a cause. That thought never went away, so here we are. Year two of doing it for a good cause. Last year we raise $1300 across all donation sites. I don't expect everyone to be so generous every year, so please tell more people so we can top last year's effort.
“Each generation must discover its mission, fulfill it or betray it, in relative opacity.”

When it came to donations, there were plenty of choices, but it ultimately came down to three. The National Park Foundation, Environmental Defense Fund, and Earthworks. Obviously there is a theme of Nature and the Environment. I chose Earthworks specifically because there had been federal land opened up to be sold for rights to the resources. Earthwork's focus on mining and fracking oversight, jumped out to me because of that. It is my hope that future charitable endeavors and dance marathons ;) like life, only get better. I had a good experience dealing with them over the last year, and still think they do good stuff! It was a bit under the radar, but talking to Earthworks, they are also focused on climate change.
If you're more worried about the National Parks or the general looming threat of climate change, I understand and encourage you to donate to those other causes. I would love to hear from you if you do though, to know the full impact of my work here :)
***There will be 10 1-hour playlist spots available to donors!!!!***
Anyone who donates $50 or more can create a 1 hour playlist in Spotify and I will use it in the Dance Marathon. Time slots can be discussed and negotiated. Just contact me after you donate if you'd like a playlist. I should be able to tell, but just make sure you have proof if there is an issue. Limit 1 hour per donor until 4/26/2020. If the 10 slots are not full by that date, every $25 over the initial $50 will get an extra hour long playlist slot.
