Brad Thorpe's Medical Expenses

Donation protected
On Thursday August 23, 2018 my brother-in-law was headed out for a late breakfast and an afternoon of what he loves best...golf.  As he was walking to his truck in the parking lot he suddenly went into cardiac arrest and went down fast and hard on the concrete.  Thank God, there was a women there who could start CPR until paramedics were able to get there.  They were eventually able to resuscitate him.  However, keeping him stable would prove to be difficult and require him being airlifted to University of Virginia Hospital for Level 1 trauma care.  From his arrival to UVA until today he has had many ups and downs.  He remains on the life support measures  of dialysis and a ventilator at this time in ICU.

He is still in very critical condition, but we see glimmers of hope as we take baby steps towards his recovery.  He is initiating some breathing on his own, which is a great thing.  He is attempting to wake up, but all after all the meds and tests they have run, it is taking time.

Sandi and the kids are doing the best they can to stay positive and be his biggest cheerleaders.  At this time, we want that to be their only focus.  As you can imagine, every thing that has happened medically will be costly and being 45 minutes away from home presents other financial struggles.

Many family and friends have asked, 'What can we do?"  So while creating a site like this the last thing Sandi or Brad would want to do, we feel this is a small way that we can help take some of the worry and stress off Sandi and his brother and mom, Darren and Wanda Thorpe.

We also ask that everyone continue the prayers that Brad, Sandi, Nic, Haley, and other members of his family will need every step of the way in the process towards healing.

We will try to provide occasional updates.

Thank you in advance for all your prayers and support down this difficult road.
