Brad Small and Family (Phase 2)

Hello All,

This is Alex and Maya from the Gatje ’SisterPod’ sending an update and reinvigorating the GoFundMe effort and fundraising for our brother-in-law Brad Small and his family, including the third in our beloved pod, Margot.

As most of you know, on the morning of Sunday, May 15, Brad Small was in a horrific car accident while driving to get bagels for his family. The results of this tragic accident left Brad in critical condition with severe traumatic injuries, leaving a long and challenging road ahead for him and his family.

Brad has healed well so far, recovering from his head trauma, fractured clavicles and ribs, a severed ear and a punctured lung, but sadly a T7 spinal fracture has left Brad paralyzed from his chest down. He has endured several surgeries, weeks in ICU and excellent care at a Level 1 Trauma Center in NJ.

With the continued support of family and friends, this GoFundMe is being created as we enter into Phase 2 of Brad’s recovery and the huge life shift experienced by his family. The challenges for them all are unfathomable to most of us. Brad is currently in an acute rehab facility and working as hard as he can on his own recuperation. Medical challenges continue to present themselves, and the road is not smooth or clear going forward…

We know that Brad, Margot and their two sons are so very grateful for the incredible outpouring of kindnesses and support their GoFundMe community has already shown. Now, we, the ‘SisterPod,’ are taking up the challenge and humbly requesting that if you can continue to support or give any ‘Small’ donation, it will go to good use and help our sister through this terribly challenging time.
