Brad’s Healing Journey ✨

Donation protected
Hi friends and fam!

I am setting this fundraiser up to support Brad and his family, in his healing journey after he was hit by a car as a pedestrian almost two weeks ago in Devonport, Tasmania.

Brad sustained multiple injuries including a smashed leg, cracked sternum, holes in his lungs and intestines among other more minor injuries.

He was air lifted to Hobart the day after the incident and went into an exploratory surgery where they discovered the hole in his intestines leaking bile into his body- a serious concern!

After repairing this Brad was left in an induced coma for two days as a second surgery was to take place and repair his leg where the broken bone was replaced by a steel rod. He has since been dubbed “Bionic Brad”

Once Brad was brought out of his sleep state he spent days being fed through a tube and multiple drains, tubes and a catheter managed his body and his pain while he started healing.

All is progressing unbelievably well and each day brings positive news and phenomenal goals being smashed. Brad has nurses and doctors in awe at how miraculously he is improving. His strong spirit is shining through!

The main reason for this fundraiser is to continue to support his healing by enabling his mum to stay by his side and support his family through the financial pressure the event has placed on them all. Danielle (mum) has been Brads back bone through this whole process, she has even slept by his side each night for the past week and a half and endured pillows and teddies thrown at her to wake her in his times of need!

Danielle is a casual worker and so currently has no income whilst she is with Brad and as expected the bills and expenses are continuing to rise. Unfortunately she also mistakenly parked in an emergency lane in the rush to get to Brads side and copped a $750 fine!

Brad will need support upon coming home for some time and for Danielle to continue to help, will mean she may have to move in with Brad who lives with his dad under normal circumstances. She lives over an hour away.

Brads father has his own medical circumstances going on (is also currently admitted at the Hobart hospital) and is restricted in some ways to be able to support Brad physically.

Brads two older brothers, Zac 21 & Cohan 19 (and Zacs girlfriend, Georgie) have been running a household and family business alone here in the coast whilst this is all going on. A phenomenal feat for two young men and a heavy burden when they of course wish to be with Brad also.

I have watched this family show so much encouragement and support for one another, heard their declarations of unconditional love and I couldn’t think of a family more deserving of a helping hand at this time of need. I am honoured to be able to set this up on their behalf and hope it makes a terrible accident feel a little less stressful and they can focus on each other and whatever road they have in front of them in terms of healing.
Any donations will be directly received by Brads mum, Danielle and used towards medical care but also to support her and the family in staying by Bradley’s side on what we expect to be a lengthy journey.

Any donation will go a long way in reducing that strain and supporting this family.

With love and so much gratitude for your support
