Brad Gough

Our mate Brad, who had a sense of humour that made us all cry with laughter at one point or another, was tragically taken from us on Friday Sept 30th. We are heartbroken, and it is difficult to put into words how much Brad will be missed.

Brad moved to Canada just over three years ago after a decade of travel; upon arrival, he didn’t skip a beat. He made a core group of friends, some new and some old, who shared his appreciation for the outdoors (as well as a good party here and there!). Brad's love for the forest was at the forefront of his career as an arborist; he quickly mastered the skill set and was known for exceptional work in the local industry. During his time in Canada, he also met and fell in love with Nicole; and they adopted Tiggy, a rescue dog from Mexico. His life in Vancouver was full, but he never failed to mention his family (Ben, Jess, Ellie Carolyne, Martin & Kevin) and friends from the UK, along with the many stories of his life and childhood in Shrewsbury.

Brad had many enviable traits; he was generous, empathetic, hilarious, a great storyteller, and sometimes brutally honest. Often guffawing at modern urban society and telling anyone who’d listen about a simpler off-grid life that he aspired to live. All those who had the fortune of crossing paths will miss his sense of humour, charm, and fun-loving personality.

In the spirit of Brad's generosity and kindness, this fund has been set up by his friends to help ease the strain on his family and loved ones. We know many of you have shared special moments with Brad, and we would like to give everyone who knew him the opportunity to help.

As you can imagine, there are unexpected expenses, travel and general logistics to cover. Anything at all helps, and we know Brad wouldn't want the fuss, but would appreciate those he loved being looked after.
