Hi, my name is Leonie and since retiring in April I have set myself the challenge of stepping outside my comfort zone, whilst helping the community at the same time.

For 2025, I have chosen to run the Nottingham Half Marathon and to raise funds for Bracken Hill School, who have helped family and friends reach their full potential over many years.

Bracken Hill School is based in Kirkby-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire and is a beacon of hope and learning for approximately 170 children and young adults (aged 4-18) with diverse special educational needs.

The school offers tailored Learning Pathways that grow with the student - from sensory and nurturing environments to accredited courses - preparing them for post-school life and a caring, safe environment, praised by Ofsted as "Good, with exceptional pastoral support and a nurturing, family-style atmosphere".

Every child at Bracken Hill has an Education, Health & Care Plane (EHCP) and unique challenges - whether autism, communication differences, sensory impairments or emotional needs.
