I'll be missing you

Hi my name is Shaye, and I am fundraising for my final school project at film school.

I'll be missing you is a short film about a girl stuck in the denial stages of grief looking to find answers and hopefully healing with the help of her little sister and a psychic.

On May 31st, 2021, my family received devastating news. The youngest member, Cassidy, who was just 26, tragically passed away from an accidental overdose.

My path to healing has been challenging, to say the least, but I had a dream one night that made me decide art was the path I needed to channel my grief.

So I packed up and moved to Vancouver to join a film school that has absolutely kicked my ass, but helped me complete my story. It has been such a whirlwind of emotions and at times I've wondered if I'm even cut out for any of this. I've thought about not doing this script as my final project because it is quite painful, but as usual, Cassidy sent me a sign. Filming dates were given to the students on a random basis and of course the dates I got were the anniversary of her passing (May 31st) so I knew it was meant to be.

Your donations would go towards production which include: location and equipment rentals, travel expenses, food for the cast and crew and of course set design.
