Live the HI LIFE
Aloha!!!
For a little backstory, I lived on Oahu for 4 wonderful years and became accustom to the island life and all it has to offer. I started living on a permaculture farm in a shipping container with no money, no job, and nobody on island I knew besides my beautiful girlfriend who at the time was still only a good friend. I worked diligently day and night, both on the farm for no wages but a place to stay in return, and at a small cafe in town to make money for food and living expenses. After 6 months I realized I needed to make a move in order to create a life I could be proud of in Hawaii. I ended up moving into the city with my girl and finding steady work that offered stability and a chance to a create a more normal lifestyle that wasn’t so focused on work and survival. My years on Oahu ended up being some of the most gratifying of my whole life. No place has brought me more satisfaction and contentment than Hawaii, but as life tends to do, I was thrown a bit of a curveball and I moved back to the mainland for a job opportunity that ended up falling through last year. As difficult as the situation was, we stuck it out, and moved to San Diego where we spent the last year.
As we all know, 2020 has brought with it a list of its own trials and tribulations, and has effected all of us. If it has brought any sort of silver lining to the surface, it’s that I have realized the importance of going after what you believe in, and what you know will bring the most joy and happiness to a life full of challenges, ebbs and flows, and unexpected setbacks. So now I find myself in a position with an opportunity to move back to Hawaii in December, and to pursue a lasting future there, both personally and professionally. I already have a ticket to get there, and my girlfriend and dog are already settled in on Oahu, working and waiting for my arrival. It is now a matter of me following in their footsteps, however there’s a few hurdles in my way that have made my plan exponentially more difficult to manifest. The biggest obstacle is the expense of moving my vehicle to the island, and that happens to be an “oversize” Sprinter Van. I am in the process of building out and converting my Van into a mobile “tiny” home, and in order to get it to Oahu safe and sound I will need help with getting the massive beast to the island. I did not expect nor did I have the foresight to know the cost would be as great as it is, and I would normally under no circumstances ever ask for this, but your help, however little it may be, can be the determining factor in me succeeding to make this move a reality. I would be forever grateful, and so would my girl and our furry partner. Your support means the world to me, so please help me make a triumphant return to my island family and the future it holds. The amount I’m trying to raise would cover the transportation/shipping costs of the van and make this dream possible!!
I want to thank you, anybody taking the time to even consider or read this, as I realize we are all busy and facing all sorts of obstacles, challenges and battles while on our own individual journeys through life. However uncomfortable putting this out there for me is, I know on the other side is a bright, successful and truly happy future, and your help and support means you will be apart of it.
Also know that you are always welcome to visit and make yourself at home anytime you so desire. Be apart of my island Ohana (family), and I will be the best tour guide you can imagine. Thanks again, and Aloha! See you island side
