For those who may not know, over a month ago Ryan was hospitalized after being misdiagnosed for some time. He was eventually diagnosed with viral meningitis, likely due to being immunocompromised post kidney transplant. After his three week round of antibiotics, his symptoms remained the same, if not worse resulting in being re-hospitalized and an eventual transfer to Froedtert. On Saturday, while at Froedtert Ryan suffered a stroke. We are so grateful that he was in the right place when it occurred as we are still hopeful for a full (yet very long) recovery. Ryan has been out of work for over month and will remain out for the foreseeable future. Renee has had to miss work to be there for Ryan, her kids and her ill father.
So many people have reached out asking how they can help. The meals, gift cards, ride offers are all so very appreciated. In the coming weeks/months it may be easiest for one central spot for those who would like to donate to assist the O’Connell Family.
