Robert's Medical Fund
Donation protected
My husband, Robert, had a stroke in December 2012. He had a CT with contrast dye which damaged his kidneys and he started dialysis on January 5, 2013. In addition, his heart became weak and he was required to have open heart surgery to have an LVAD (left ventricular assist device) implanted to keep him alive until he could have a heart and kidney transplant. The LVAD was implanted in March of 2015. This device and the surgery were very expensive.
In the fall of 2015 Robert became very sick and was in and out of the hospital about every other week. One week in October he started to look very bad and at his next regular visit to check his LVAD he was immediately admitted to the hospital. Because he was so sick, he was moved to the top of the transplant list and about two weeks later we got a call that there was a donor.
As you can imagine, our medical bills are in the tens of thousands of dollars so the money we raise will be used to pay bills, past and contuining medical costs and prescriptions.
We need to raise the money immediately as the transplants came unexptedly soon and we had not raised any money.
This means so much to us because we are both on disability and would otherwise be unable to pay any of the bills and we want to show our gratitude to the hospital, doctors and all involved by being able to pay at least a portion of the money we owe.
We would be incredibly greatful for any donation that could be made, as we are so greatful for all that as been done for Robert and the difference that the services he has received by all involved.
Robert is doing very well at this time and we feel extremely blessed.
