Kats Medical Fund

Kat, my wife/soul mate, and I have many mutual friends and most are aware of the struggles she's gone through in the last 2 1/2 years. She was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer and underwent chemotherapy for a year, along with a mastectomy. She is now cancer free but a new challenge has arisen. We got the devastating news recently that Kat now has dementia, probably as a result of the chemotherapy.

Over the last year her cognitiv abilities have really declined and she needs help with every aspect of a daily routine. I have to clean her, change her clothes, make her meals, brush her hair, etc. I work a fulltime job from home but she requires constant monitoring and help which I'm incapable of providing while I work. Although her doctor visits and medications are covered, a full time caregiver must be paid for out of pocket. All our savings was spent during the Covid lockdown snd during her cancer treatments when I had to give up my job to act as her sole caregiver.

The minimum cost of a fulltime qualified caregiver is around 18-25 euros an hour, which puts it beyond my means though I make a decent income. Starting a Go Fund Me page seems to be our only option at this point.
