*UPDATE*
My beautiful Mother gained her wings on February 13th, 2022 at 1:45am
I am thankful for her 91 years on this earth. She has left a legacy of 7 children, 18 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren. For the past 3 years my world has revolved around her in every way. And for every sacrifice I made I was given the gift of understanding, compassion, patience and strength. She showed me that I had so much more in me than I could ever imagine. She passed peacefully, with me holding her hand assuring her she was very much loved. She gave this thing called dementia a run for it's money and she left me in awe each day with her love , power, and strength. I traveled with her on this journey from the beginning until the end. We had our laughs and we shed our tears, but we always knew we had one another to face another day. My heart is broken and is almost too much to bear. It's so, so hard to say goodbye. And now I must learn to navigate life without her in it.
Hello Everyone!
2022 has already brought unexpected changes, with my mother taking a turn for the worse with her Dementia.
As many of you know we have been caring for my 91 year old mother for the past 3 years. We have been providing her with the best care we know how, and our goal has always been to make her as happy and comfortable as possible.
Unfortunately, the dementia is now taking control of her mind and body and we have been told to prepare for the inevitable. With her now on Hospice care, the realization of dealing with end of life decisions brings us here.
At this point we don't know how fast or how slow this dementia will progress, we just know that it will. Nothing could have prepared us for this journey, and we're still learning as we go.
But with no life insurance and no prior plans or preparations, we know we cannot do this alone and are reaching out to our community, and the people we know and love for help.
We understand these are hard times for everyone, so even the smallest donation would be greatly appreciated.
Whether you can donate or not, we appreciate everyone who has taken this journey with us, whether it has been in person or via social media.
We could not have asked for better Family, Friends, and Community.
To those who are sharing our story with others, to all those who are able to donate, and to those who have given support, advice, and guidance "Thank You"
