I cannot even believe I am writing this. Yesterday at around 7 am a horrific accident happened that changed our lives forever in MANY ways. My future mother, father, and brother in law lost their house and everything they own in a fire. My FIL took my BIL to the train station at around 630 am when he got home at around 7 am he smelled something and realized the oil burner was on fire. He woke up mom and grabbed their dog and called 911. Jen received a call at 704 from a friend and member of the Port Washington Fire Dept. that mom and dads house was on fire. Jen and I never ran so fast. When getting to the scene there were 5 firetrucks and about 50 firemen . They managed to get my BIL bird,a blue macaw out and safe. Everyone is safe and alive thank GOD! Many people have reached out to my in laws asking what can I do? So I decided to create this page. It will not bring back any the tangible memories. But we will always have them in our minds and hearts. It us going to take at least a year to rebuild the house and right now they are with Jen and I. We need to be together during this difficult time. God is good , he was with us every step of the way yesterday and will be in the days, months, and year to come. I want to thank the Port Washington Fire Dept. as well as the other ones that were there helping get the fire under control. It was surreal for my fiancé to walk upon her childhood home and see it up in flames and have the same guys she worked with at the firehouse fighting a fire on her own house. My heart broke for my sister in law as she was on standby from home with my niece and nephew as she was hearing the news and updates about her childhood home being destroyed. I want to thank my other future brother in law Jason for being there for mom and dad and the entire family and advocating for them when they couldn’t. WE ARE FAMILY! MOM DAD JOEY JEN ALI JASON AND OUR KIDS AND PETS. it’s going to be a long road but lives were not lost. Only material things which can always be replaced. God will continue to guide us through everything. Thank you all for your calls, texts, and social media outreach
