Why Donate?

Rescue the Underdog needs your help! RTU uses donations to pay for costly medical procedures and training. Some of our dogs come with broken bones and other debilitating injuries that have gone untreated, so they end up needing urgent medical help once they are in our care. Our dogs also require lots of training to become their best adoptable selves!

What is RTU?

Rescue the Underdog is a small, San Francisco-based, volunteer-run organization that saves dogs from being euthanized in high-kill shelters and takes in dogs that no other rescue organizations will take. We are part of the Center for Animal Rescue and Education in Solano (CARES), a 501(c)(3) organization. There is no greater joy than to see an underdog's transformation: from the time they are pulled from the shelter to when they are adopted by a loving family.

Ginger

Ginger is a sweet, 4-year-old chihuahua mix who needed hip surgery. Your donations helped cover the cost of her surgery, radiographs, medication, and general veterinary care during visits!
