Fuel 19-Year-Old Boden Gerry’s Journey to the World Cup and the Olympics
At just 19 years old, Boden Gerry is already making his mark as one of the brightest rising stars in Snowboard Cross (SBX). He placed 4th at the 2024 Youth Olympic Games in Gangwon, South Korea, and is now ranked 3rd overall in North America on the NorAm Tour.
Boden’s dream is to compete on the World Cup circuit and ultimately represent the United States at the Olympic Games. By finishing the season ranked 3rd in North America, he has already earned his own personal World Cup spot this year. His journey begins with two high-stakes races in Italy and China — both serving as Olympic qualifiers for the 2026 Games in Italy next February.
But this journey comes with a massive challenge: the cost. Unlike many other sports, the U.S. Snowboard Cross Development Team provides no financial support beyond outerwear. That means Boden is responsible for covering every single expense—travel, training, equipment, lodging, and more.
This season alone will cost nearly $140,000.
Why the Costs Are So High
To compete at the highest level, Boden not only has to travel across North America and Europe for races and training camps—he must also provide his own coach and wax technician.
His coach this year is Alex Tuttle—a World Cup Snowboard Cross athlete, former U.S. Paralympic Team coach, and a proud Carrabassett Valley Academy (CVA) graduate like Boden. Alex brings both world-class experience and a local connection, making him the perfect mentor.
On top of that, Boden needs a dedicated wax tech to ensure his boards are fast, consistent, and competitive against the world’s best.

A Word from Boden
“Snowboard Cross has been my passion since I was a kid. I know the road to the Olympics isn’t easy, but I’m ready to put in the work. Having Alex Tuttle as my coach, a wax tech in my corner, and the support of my community means everything. Every donation—big or small—helps me keep this dream alive.”
