Hey all, as many of you may know, I have been having issues with my back and neck for quite a while. Over the past several months the issue with my neck has made it impossible for me to play an instrumet due to numbness and weakness in my left hand. Singing is also problematic because it causes the pinching of the nerves to worsen. Due to these two issues I've been forced to be off work for quite some time now.
The treatment required to get my lower back straightened out has already exhausted what little savings I had. The good news with my back is that conservative treatment has worked and I'm back on my feet and walking with relatively little pain, the bad news is, my neck is going to require surgery. Unfortunately my surgery will not be able to be performed until late February. The post-op recovery time is going to be at least a couple of months after the surgery.
To complicate matters, the best surgeon available has gone off-network because of the Affordable Care Act, so the deductible is very high, $13,750. In order to have the operation done I must pay half of that up-front and the rest in installments spread over three months when it's likely that I still won't be back to work doing what I love, which is playing music.
I miss playing every single day with my Dread Clampitt bandmates sooooo badly, I miss seeing everybody that comes out to support our band and most of all I miss the opportunity to bring a song to you that may brighten your day.
I'm reaching out as a last resort for the financial help needed in order for me to get this surgery performed and get back to playing with Dread Clampitt and making my living as a full time musician. Any help will never be unappreciated or ever forgotten!! I thank you all so much for all of your help, support and kind words during these tough months.
