Haiti: A Story Retold

Donation protected

For several years, Haiti has been labeled as the “poorest country in the Western Hemisphere” through various media outlets. Has anyone ever stopped to think of the impact this labeling has on the people of Haiti? According to James Allen, “As he thinks, so he is; as he continues to think, so he remains.”

This Spring Joanne Delone and Megan Perry, who are two graduate students from the University of Bridgeport, will be traveling to Haiti to capture unscripted stories of local residents, government officials, and non profit organizations on how they believe they have been marginalized by the Western media and how that has impacted the development and people of Haiti.

The creation and future use of this documentary will be for educational purposes and capacity building. The documentary will be shared with universities and non-profit organizations, specifically with organizations that work with the Haitian population.

Your financial support will go towards the purchase of production equipment, room and board, and travel expenses within various parts in Haiti.

Thank you in advance for your timely contribution to the realization of this documentary. If you have any questions or concerns, please email them to [email redacted]. The fundraising deadline is Friday, May 6th 2016.
