Medical Aid to Ukraine

UPDATE: we have reached out initial fundraising goal (thank you so much!) We will still provide medical support based on any additional funding accumulated - this will provide food/shelter/medical care to the refugees crossing the border into Poland and send supplies into Ukraine (hospitals in Lviv, Kyiv, etc). 

Initial post:

The invasion of Ukraine has devastated the nation. Countless lives have been lost, and many Ukrainians have been forced from their homes, all over Ukraine, in search of safety. Many of these people are now refugees with limited access to food or shelter.

As a Ukrainian-American, and a physician, I cannot continue to watch from the sidelines. Therefore, I will be joining the Sauvetures Sans Frontieres (SSF, https://www.sauveteurs.org/) medical team to provide aid to refugees at the Ukraine-Poland border (near Medyka and Jaroslaw, Poland).

We are raising funds to provide additional support in the form of medical supplies, devices, and warm clothing to the refugees at the border (which include many children). We will also be securing additional supplies to be delivered to cities in Ukraine, such as Lviv (approximately 60 miles due east). These will be obtained in collaboration with the Cardiology Department at Thomas Jefferson University.

Any additional funds collected will be donated directly to the SSF cause and will be allocated on-site at the refugee camp near Medyka, Poland.

Any amount of support is greatly appreciated, and I can assure you the resources will be allocated where they are needed most.
