With her heart of gold, she is cherished by so many! She is one of the most caring people you will ever meet and if you haven't met her yet her loving soul, loyalty, wittyness and selflessness will suck you in.

My mom has never been sick and never been in the hospital until two months ago and everything has gone so fast. She is in so much pain with no pain meds touching it. If you aren't able to help at least please keep her in your prayers and thoughts. She’s always been the strong one for everyone else, but she needs all of us now.

This money will go to help with travel, medicine, hospital bills (If there are any that insurance doesn't cover, or if things with insurance change) and anything else she may need in this process or anything that will lighten the load for her and our family! Anything left over will be donated to Pancreatic Cancer Research.

The Story: (By Danielle, her daughter)
My mom has been in and out of the hospital for around 2 months (Cox twice and Mercy 3 times). It started as severe pain in her back, that then moved to her stomach area also. They originally diagnosed her with pancreatitis and cut her down to liquids only and sent her home after a couple weeks of monitoring but she ended up passing out at home from not eating because she hurt so bad when she did eat. Eventually it escalated even more and they thought it might be her Gallbladder so they removed that, but that also was not the problem because she was still in such severe pain that the high dosage of pain meds couldn’t come close to touching it. I have never seen anyone in this much pain.

During all of this, they did decide to do some scans and they did find a mass around her pancreas so they scheduled a biopsy for Monday. She left the biopsy and got home but she was in so much pain when she got home that they had to call an ambulance and she went back to the hospital. They gave her some meds that finally let her sleep but she  didn’t do well on them and it terrified her so they are trying to fix the pain with just morphine, oxy and dillauted. When they took her on the Monday night after her biopsy they checked for internal bleeding from the biopsy, which they didn’t find thankfully, but they found another mass around her stomach.

We got the results back yesterday from the biopsy and it is without a doubt pancreatic cancer.

We know that whatever the mass is on her pancreas is inoperable because it is wrapped around intensities and her main artery, with it constricting around that artery, but as for everything else it is just a waiting game. They ran blood work today for a certain protein found in cancer and we will get the results for that eventually. After that, we have to get her well enough and pain free enough (not on IV meds) to get home in order to then schedule the PET scan (it’s an insurance thing) after that the PET scan will tell us more in staging and what our options are, wether that be palliative care or curative. *****She is home as of now.

We talked to her main oncology doctor this AM and she says it’s about a 50-50 maybe even 60-40 chance that chemo then radiation will work. They are gonna keep watch on the mass around her stomach because it could possibly be a whole new thing (since they didn’t see it before) which would mean it’s spread. But with the tests they have ran so far they seem to think that the three masses are all together and not a separate thing. They will find out more after PET scan, but they do not wanna hold off to do PET scan first, they want to start chemo ASAP. They have to get her pain under control where they can get her home, then she will start chemo treatments and eventually schedule the PET scan to get a full body scan of where the cancer is.

NEWEST UPDATE:
This week is a week full of appointments: Wednesday is blood work, Thursday is a follow up appointment then her first round of Chemo (3 Hours), then Friday she gets a port put in.

Thank you to everyone for your prayers, love, and support!
