Bowie's Surgery
Donation protected
Hi, I'm Peyton and the cute puppy is Bowie. Bowie like the knife, not like the singer (even though everyone thinks it's the singer). I got Bowie when he was about 6 weeks old after my sister's dog had babies. When Bowie was four months old we packed up our house in Texas and drove across America to move to California. That picture is him in the snow at the Grand Canyon, it's one of my favorites of him. I have a whole lot more though if you want to see more photos. When we got to California we found a local vet that would become our home vet. We settled into our new house and even built him a little nook in an old fireplace that is now called "Bowie's Place." After we finally finished all his vaccines we went on a hike and explored some of the beauty California had to offer. Our first hike was to a waterfall, Bowie loved playing in the shallow water and meeting other dogs for the first time.
Despite being fully vaccinated, Bowie contracted Parvo. He was admitted to a pet hospital and stayed there for four days. The medical bill cost $4,500 but it saved his life. He came home and we were isolated for a month to be sure no other dogs catch this deadly virus. When we could finally go on walks again, Bowie started acting sick. I knew I couldn't afford another hospital visit, but something was wrong. Bowie got X-rays and we learned that he had a blockage in his stomach that requires surgery to remove. Surgery and another long hospitalization that will cost $4,100.
I am usually not the type of person to ask for financial help, but I love my little guy and want the best for him. I already paid the Parvo cost, but this second hospital stay so close to the last is beyond what I can provide. Any amount helps. If you know someone that loves pets, sending this their way helps too.
