Hi friends,
As some may know, Bozo has been battling an "ear infection" for months now, since September of '20 to be exact. We have run the gamut with three different vets, leading only to misdiagnoses and failed attempts of a solution via medication. Finally, we were able to see a Dermatologist who identified the issue as not an ear infection, but an infection brought on due to a polyp which is likely lodged deep within his inner-ear. After seeking the opinion of a second specialist, it has been determined that the solution is surgical; but first he needs a CT scan to identify where the mass is located and how they need to conduct the surgery.
The cost of the CT scan is estimated [starting] at $2,800 -- the cost of the surgery is estimated [starting] at $5,000 (Ventral Bulla Osteotomy (VBO)). Our goal for this gofundme is to cover the higher end possibility of the surgery. We have already depleted our savings on his treatment to this point and we are in need of help.
We know this is a financially challenging time for so many, and I'm struggling to write this as I have to acknowledge our privilege in even having an income right now, but we've reached a dead-end. If you are able to donate anything at all, it would be extremely helpful and our gratitude could not be matched. If you aren't able, your well wishes for Bozo's speedy recovery would be appreciated, too (and perhaps sharing this...). We would also like to offer the option of a "goLOANme" instead; please feel free to message me or Michael so we can discuss/write-up a re-payment plan.
This has been a long and seemingly endless road, but it appears the end is in sight and we just want our sweet Bozo to be back in tip-top shape. We cannot thank you all enough for your support and kind words. Should the funds raised go over our costs, all extra funds WILL be donated to the Humane Society of Chittenden Co. where we adopted Boz.
