Help Aaron and Kat Have a Baby!

Donation protected
Organized by Brandon and McKenzie Newling on behalf of Aaron and Kat Boyd

Our dear friends, Kat and Aaron Boyd have been facing the most painful, frustrating, soul-crushing battle of infertility for 3 years. Kat and Aaron have grieved the loss of babies they never held, and the ones they may never have. Though their journey has been filled with so many disappointments and losses, we want to join together to bring hope and encouragement to this family.

We invite you to read this story of an incredible couple and join us in supporting them.

After 4 years of dating, on March 9, 2018, we witnessed Kat and Aaron commit their love to one another with a beautiful wedding! Together they vowed to stay by each other’s side; to persevere through the good times, and the bad times. And that they have!
In May of 2018 Kat and Aaron conceived their first child! The excitement was overwhelming. Together they began anticipating Kat’s first Mother’s Day as an expectant mom, and sharing the news with family and friends. Their joy was soon met with devastation. On Mother’s Day 2018 Kat and Aaron discovered their baby was gone. It felt so unfair, even cruel. How could this happen? This day to become childless?
Although that Mother’s Day was crushing, they remained hopeful. Kat and Aaron would try again to start a family. After almost a full year of trying to conceive, in February 2019, they discovered Kat was expecting another baby! Surely this would be their rainbow baby that they had been praying so desperately for. This time they felt extreme hope and began dreaming up names, designing the nursery, discussing how they would parent the child, and even told a few friends and family. The excitement was so pure. That is until they were hit with the terrible news, yet again the baby’s life had been lost. Again God? And Why? Kat and Aaron were filled with pain and so many unanswered questions. This time it seemed even more cruel. It stung a bit more when they had to call family and friends to tell them the terrible news.

“It’s a journey that is tough to even put into words. The only pain worse than preparing your heart and home for a child that never comes, is the pain that comes with the repeated loss of children we so desperately wanted, but never made it to our arms.” -Kat

Kat and Aaron were fully aware at this point that their chances for a successful pregnancy were low, but their desire to have a child was so strong. They were willing to risk the pain to try again. In May 2019, Kat was pregnant again! This time the couple was much more cautious in their hope, especially after experiencing their previous losses. They went to every monitoring appointment and the doctors affirmed Kat that things were looking really good! Now the moment a woman becomes pregnant, her and her child create a special bond, something only the mother can experience. Because of this, Kat knew in her heart something was not right. She and Aaron begged doctors to do more testing just to be extra cautious. Sadly, Kat’s intuition was right, and around 8 weeks, the doctors called to have Aaron and Kat come in immediately as they had suspected Kat had an ectopic pregnancy. The baby had stopped growing, after it had implanted in the fallopian tube. The doctors told them they wanted to manage this conservatively, which meant 2 long months of miscarrying a baby for Kat. During this time, their worst fears came true. Kat began experiencing horrific pain in her abdominal area, along with shortness of breath, dizziness, and the inability to even walk. Aaron rushed Kat immediately to the Emergency Room, only for the doctors to determine that Kat was experiencing a ruptured ectopic pregnancy. This is extremely dangerous to the mother, as ruptured ectopic pregnancies are the number one of cause of maternal death in the first trimester. Kat was rushed into emergency surgery where they discovered her fallopian tube had indeed ruptured, and she had lost an extensive amount of blood due to internal bleeding. Not only was Kat enduring this physical pain, Aaron had to witness his bride fight for her life.

It took many months of grieving and recovering, but with the hope and strength from God, they would attempt to have a baby again. Since then, their efforts have found no success. After being referred to an infertility clinic, the doctors believe that Aaron and Kat’s chances of unassisted reproduction are very low due to the combination of male factor infertility, and the fact that Kat now has only one remaining fallopian tube, and a diagnosis of PCOS. Initially the doctors suggested they begin with the most conservative approaches, such as medicated cycles, and IUI. However, neither one have proven to be successful.

“When you go through infertility and repeated loss, you start to think “Maybe we aren’t meant to be parents. Maybe God is angry with us, and sees us as undeserving parents. Maybe we just “aren’t meant to have a family.” I’d be lying if I said we still don’t have those thoughts at times. But then we remember God’s promises. We remember He is capable of miracles. We remember He loves us and wants the best for us. That He WANTS to see His children happy. That His plan for us, is not over yet. That He will use our story and our pain for good. Our hope is that our story inspires you to never give up, and to never give up on God’s mercy and promises. We fully believe that He is not done with us yet, and greater things are yet to come.” -Kat

So where does this leave us? How can WE help? Aaron and Kat’s doctors believe that IVF (in-vitro fertilization) is their only hope of having a biological child of their own. This will give them the best chance at having the family they so desperately desire. However, IVF is an extremely expensive and involved treatment plan. This is where we can help. We need to raise $30,000 quickly to make this possible.

As Kat’s best friend, I have to say this couple believes in God’s promises, His plan, His miracles, and His grace. This couple is unlike any other you’ll find. They are compassionate, selfless, and giving. Together they would raise a child in the most loving home. It has pained me so much to see my very best friend endure this journey, especially when I see the love they have for each other, and others around them.

Kat has been there for me during the hardest times of my own life and it is with great privilege I get to host this GoFundMe page alongside my husband Brandon.
Sharing this story with the world takes courage, but Aaron and Kat are hopeful that we can help them create the family they’ve prayed so long for.

If you can help monetarily, we will be eternally grateful. We know this is a troublesome time for many, so if you’re only able to contribute your thoughts and prayers, we will be unbelievably thankful for those, too.

Thank you so much for coming alongside us to support Aaron and Kat in this time of need.

**Aaron and Kat firmly believe morally and biblically that life begins at conception. They have discussed this with their doctor and they have both agreed that under no circumstances will embryos be discarded.**
