Hi, my name is Liv Hammer, and I am a junior in the Film Conservatory at Suny Purchase.

As a kid, my idea of fun was playing basketball, rocking grass stains on my knees, and wearing tuxedos. But femininity felt worlds away from me, and I was never quite sure what kind of girl I was. When Kit, a spunky 13 year old Tom boy, witnesses the true nature of her sister's best friend, her new found curiosity challenges her relationship with her older sister.

Boy Short, my Junior thesis, explores the inner anxieties of how queerness fits into our lives, and how the people we love perceive us. It is a glimpse into the world of girlhood through the eyes of a Tom boy, and a reminder that butches are beautiful.
