Boxing 4 Health opened its doors at my home almost 2 years ago today. I saw and felt the need to help people with Parkinson’s Disease to live a better quality of life and hopefully halt the disease in its steps. We started with two members and quickly grew to 70 in less than 2 years and we realized how much of a need there was to instill HOPE in people living with this disease that has no cure.
After being in our own gym for 1 year we have been thrown an unfortunate curve ball and lost our main parking lot overnight and are having to relocate to another space. All of this comes at a high cost especially when it’s not expected. A few people have had to turn away from coming to class because they haven’t been able to find parking or it became too stressful for them to find parking. Our students notice significant changes when they don’t train even for a few days and their mobility will often get worse. Accessible parking is hugely important to our business and it has unfortunately been affected by the transition in the past month. We have fortunately found a new gym space to move into June 1st with accessible parking. However, the cost to get it ready and get the proper safe flooring for our members is costing us more than we ever thought and we don’t want out students to go without the proper equipment nor the safety of having the right floors for when falls happen and they will happen. We are trying to avoid the increase in costs to our dedicated students that train so hard to do everything they can to stay ahead of this disease. We are reaching out to the community to help us make our move a little easier and help us continue to inspire hope in all of our amazing students. Sincerely Christine & Jess xo
